Colombia registró este martes el cuarto récord consecutivo de muertes por coronavirus (COVID-19), con 599 fallecidos, y se aproxima con rapidez a los 100.000 fallecimientos inmersa en la peor racha de la pandemia. El Ministerio de Salud también confirmó otros 24.452 contagios, lo que eleva a 3.802.052 el total de casos positivos, de los que 96.965 han fallecido y 153.991 (el 4,05 %) están actualmente activos.
Con las unidades de cuidados intensivos (UCI) colapsadas en varias ciudades del país, las regiones que más casos positivos sumaron en la jornada fueron Bogotá (7.571), Antioquia (3.501), Cundinamarca (2.110), Santander (1.859), Valle del Cauca (1.263) y Bolívar (1.100).
El lunes se aplicaron 142.258 dosis de vacunas contra la covid-19, de las cuales 45.410 fueron segundas tomas. Hasta el momento, los servicios sanitarios de Colombia han aplicado 13.167.044 vacunas contra la covid-19, de las cuales 3.875.823 corresponden a segunda dosis. El país ha recibido 18.508.784 vacunas, de las que 8.500.004 son de Sinovac, 7.738.380 de Pfizer y 2.270.400 de AstraZeneca.
