Chaclacayo, es uno de los distritos de clima más templado y despejados de la provincia, ubicado al este de Lima, cuenta con varios centros y restaurantes campestres y clubes para que las personas puedan acampar y recrearse en cualquier época del año.

Creado el 24 de abril de 1940, mediante la Ley N° 9080 promulgada por el presidente de la República, Manuel Prado Ugarteche, donde comparia territorios con Ate y Chosica. El nombre de Chaclacayo se deriva de un vocablo aymara producto de las voces ‘chajlla’ (carrizo) y ‘kayo’ (pie) que se traduce como al «pie de los carrizos».

Durante la colonia comenzó a formarse los nueve fundos que al transcurrir el tiempo esos darían origen al distrito de Chaclacayo: Huascata, Morón, San Bartolomé, La Tuna, Tupacocha, San Damián, Santa Inés, El Juzgado y Buenamuerte, sede del corregimiento. Donde se cultivaban algodón y los forrajes para ganado vacuno.

Actualmente posee con 18 barrios, sin mencionar a Ñaña y Huampaní, que pertenecen al distrito de Lurigancho-Chosica. Sus principales atractivos turísticos están el Parque Central de Chaclacayo, la Biblioteca de Chaclacayo, Templo de Nuestra Señora del Rosario y su gruta, El complejo arqueológico el Cerro de la Luna, el Estadio Municipal, el Parque San Juan, La Casona de los Cóndores (Hotel, Centro de Convenciones y Restaurant), entre otros.
