El Día del Auxiliar, Técnico en Enfermería y Sanitario del Perú, se celebra cada 6 de mayo, fecha establecida mediante la Resolución Ministerial Nro. 0282-82-SA/DM, emitida el 17 de noviembre de 1982 y ratificada mediante la Resolución Ministerial Nro. 199-90 SA/DM con fecha 4 de mayo de 1990.
En esta fecha se brinda el reconocimiento y homenaje a los profesionales técnicos de la salud que realizan su labor de servicio a los pacientes en general. Este grupo está conformado por hombres y mujeres quienes desempeñan una importante labor en el cuidado y atención de las personas enfermas, en muchas oportunidades esta labor la desempeñan en zonas más alejadas de nuestro país.
El trabajo de los técnicos de enfermería está profundamente unida a las necesidades de atención del paciente, no sólo de sus cuidados físicos, sino principalmente de protección, preocupación, comprensión, apoyo, interés y afecto.
