Mediante resolución Ministerial N°0064- 85 SA/ DVM, se instituye el “Día del Estadístico de Salud» el 23 de abril de cada año. Esta oficina, tiene la función del registro de datos del paciente, así como planear, organizar y difundir información estadística.

Además, realizan el análisis sobre necesidades y futuras de información para la toma de decisiones en planes de acción. El estadístico con su labor brinda una información clara y fidedigna sobre la gestión de salud y es parte primordial para dar a conocer estas estadísticas que se entregan a la comunidad. El área se encarga de generar indicadores trazadores de salud, para observar las tendencias de coberturas alcanzadas en diferentes puestos y centros con el fin de contar con información confiable para la toma de decisiones de ese sector.

Los responsables de esta labor se comprometen a darle sentido a los datos y estas cifras las transformamos en información útil que permita la toma de decisiones en planes de acción y contribuye al bienestar de la comunidad. El estadístico, con su labor brinda una información clara y fidedigna sobre la gestión de salud y es parte primordial para dar a conocer estas estadísticas que se entregan a la comunidad.
