La Asociación “Creaciones Tejesol de Huacho”, fue creada en 2004 en la ciudad de Huacho por iniciativa del padre Ambrosio Cortesi, reuniendo a 25 socias que coordinan con 50 mujeres aliadas, quienes producen en talleres familiares junto a sus esposos e hijos.
La cestería en Junco tiene un conocimiento ancestral en Caral, en el valle de Supe, una de las civilizaciones más antiguas de América, se ha registrado el uso de fibras vegetales –junco y totora- que anteceden al algodón en la producción textil, y que se usaron para fines domésticos y rituales, así como para la construcción.
Los recursos para realizar este arte son obtenidos del humedal de la playa «El Paraíso», donde se almacena la fibra base para la elaboración de cestería del norte chico: el junco. Luego es secada en grandes atados en la playa, para después ser creativamente transformada por manos diestras, herederas de un conocimiento milenario.
Ante la pandemia, la Asociación “Creaciones Tejesol de Huacho” se ha visto afectada y ante ello solicitó ayuda al Ministerio de Cultura, permitiéndoles ingresar a la virtualidad para ofrecer sus productos mediante la web: www.ruraqmaki.pe
El Ministerio de Cultura invita a todos los emprendedores a que promocionen su arte a través de su programa ruraqmaki para poder mantener juntos, las vigentes prácticas tradicionales y ancestrales, muchas de las cuales se remontan a períodos prehispánicos y así lograr un soporte de ingresos económicos en estos tiempos difíciles.
