EsSalud advirtió que las bajas temperaturas y la humedad son factores que hacen más intenso el dolor y la contractura muscular en aquellos pacientes que presentan algún tipo de enfermedad reumática como la artrosis o artritis.

Tatiana Miraval, médico reumatóloga del Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati, informó sobe este caso: “Tanto en el caso de la artrosis como en el de la artritis reumatoide, los cambios de clima radicales pueden influir en los síntomas, pues con el frío los músculos se contraen y eso hace que sea mayor la intensidad del dolor”.

También agregó, que la mayoría de enfermedades reumáticas afectan más a mujeres que a hombres. La artritis reumatoide es la inflamación de las articulaciones que provoca dolor, deformidad y dificultad para realizar movimientos, este proceso inflamatorio se puede dar a cualquier edad siendo el periodo más frecuente entre los 35 y 55 años.

Con el objetivo de prevenir las complicaciones, la especialista recomienda una dieta sana y equilibrada a fin de mantener un peso adecuado, el cual debe estar acompañado de la práctica de ejercicio adaptado a las necesidades de cada paciente. De igual manera, el hospital Rebagliati continúa trabajando en la prevención del dolor reumático a través de la alimentación saludable, buen uso de nuestras articulaciones y ejercicio apropiado.
