El sitio arqueológico Carhuaz, ubicado en el distrito de Paracas, provincia de Pisco el pasado 23 de Enero en horas de la noche recibieron una denuncia por lo que el el Ministerio de Cultura intervino debido a una afectación que causaron daños al lugar arqueológico , con apoyo de la coordinadora del Área de Defensa de la Sub Dirección de Patrimonio Cultural Industrias Culturales e Interculturalidad de Ica , la denuncia fue referida a la exposición de un hallazgo (fardo funerario), como consecuencia de la remoción con maquinaria pesada en una parte del sitio arqueológico.
Mencionados trabajos se realizaban con la finalidad de extraer agua en el acantilado para la obra de mejoramiento de la carretera Carhuaz-Lagunillas.
En el centro del sitio arqueológico se evidenció una trocha carrozable de más 500 metros con un ancho variable de 3 a 30 metros, aproximadamente, con huellas de neumáticos profundas de casi 40 cm. Provocando el afloramiento de abundante evidencia cultural.
Los especialistas pudieron comprobar cuantioso material cultural de época prehispánica de la cultura Paracas Tardío, lograron recuperar dos fardos, uno de adulto y otro de infante, también cuatro cestos con contenido de tubérculos y otros objetos que están en estudio.
Se debe reconocer el trabajo unido entre las diversas autoridades que han contribuido, como la Jefatura de la Región Policial Ica, que fue fundamental para permitir el desplazamiento de los profesionales de la DDC Ica.
El Ministerio de Cultura, impulsa a la ciudadanía a respetar y cuidar el Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación, conmemorando su carácter intangible, inalienable e imprescriptible y está protegido por el Estado.
