El evento se realizó por el Día Internacional de la Eliminación de la Discriminación Racial, contando con la presencia del ministro de Cultura.

Como parte de la campaña “Amo mis Raíces” Alejandro Neyra, el ministro de Cultura, participó en la presentación de dos murales pintados, con el objetivo de promocionar y dar a conocer la diversidad cultural del país. Estos murales se encuentran en los exteriores del Ministerio de Cultura, en el distrito de San Borja.
El primer mural shipibo-konibo que se presentó fue de la artista Olinda Silvano, luego un mural por la integración intercultural, pintado por las artistas Venuca Evanán (peruana) y Vanessa Avendaño (venezolana). Asimismo, cuentan con la participación de un tercer mural, que será realizado por la artista Milka Franco y el Colectivo “Shipibas Muralistas”.
El mural diseñado por Olinda Silvano es de diseño kené y el otro mural hecho por Venuca Evanán y la artista venezolana, Vanessa Avendaño, es parte de la confluencia de la migración que se vive en nuestro país.
Como identidad cultural, este evento es un ejemplo de las alianzas que se forjan con otros organismos y artistas. Sin dejar de mencionar que la zona donde se encuentran los murales, es muy concurrida y mucha gente podrá apreciar los murales como muestra de nuestra diversidad cultural.
El ministro de Cultura, precisó durante la presentación que la diversidad cultural es nuestra fortaleza y se está buscando una sociedad más justa e igualitaria. Tener todas las mismas oportunidades y que el Perú se convierta en una república con más igualdad. Esto es parte del desafío de crear ciudadanía y ser un mejor país.
Amo mis Raíces, campaña que viene impulsando el sector Cultura a nivel digital para la promoción de la diversidad cultural en el Perú, por medio de testimonios que manifiestan sobre la diversidad cultural como es parte de nuestra vida, también por una serie de conservatorios con panelistas que reflexionan sobre las temáticas relacionadas y las políticas en torno a la lucha contra la discriminación étnico-racial.
