Como parte del ciclo de eventos rindiendo homenajes a las mujeres del Bicentenario que incentiva el Proyecto Especial Bicentenario de la Independencia del Perú (PEB), rendirán homenaje a doña Cleofé Ramos de Toledo y sus hijas María e Higinia Toledo Ramos, quienes reunieron armas y guiaron a los pobladores de Concepción para enfrentarse a los españoles el 3 de marzo de 1821 en el puente Balsas. Su valiente acción logró el resguardo de las fuerzas patriotas y fue reconocido por el general José de San Martín, quien las premió con la Medalla de Vencedoras.

Están cordialmente invitados a conocer más sobre las mujeres líderes y el rol que cumplieron en este importante suceso histórico en el conversatorio virtual “Sinopsis sobre las Heroínas Toledo en la Lucha por la Independencia del Perú, 200 años”, que se desarrollará hoy 02 de Marzo a las 6 p.m. Participará la directora del PEB, Laura Martinez, y autoridades provinciales; y como ponentes estarán los investigadores locales Jesús León Gonzáles, Timoteo Chávez Dueñas y Consuelo Arreola Jorge.

Mañana miércoles 3, a las 10 a.m., se realizará la ceremonia central en el Santuario Heroínas Toledo, con la participación virtual del ministro de Cultura, Alejandro Neyra; y la viceministra de la Mujer, Grecia Rojas, junto con autoridades provinciales y regionales. En este homenaje se guardará un minuto de silencio por los caídos en la acción heroica de hace dos siglos e incluye la colocación de ofrendas florales en el monumento a las Heroínas Toledo, ubicado en el santuario; también algunas condecoraciones a ciudadanos ilustres.
