A 16 años del sensible fallecimiento de su santidad, Juan Pablo II, más conocido como el Magno, es recordado por sus fieles seguidores por el gran amor que sintió por los niños y jóvenes.

Karol Joseop Wojtyla, conocido como el papa Juan Pablo II, nació el 18 el mayo de 1920 en Polonia y desde temprana edad dio lecciones de amor, fuerza, valentía y entereza. A la edad de 9 años, un trágico suceso marcó su vida, su madre Emilia Kaczorowska, falleció al dar a luz a su hermana, quien también nació muerta. Luego, a los 11 años también perdió a su hermano Edmund, medico quien fue contagiado de escarlatina por uno de sus pacientes.

Años más tarde, perdió a su padre de un ataque cardiaco. Prácticamente, se quedó solo en el mundo, pero eso no lo desanimó, al contrario, siguió luchando, estudiando y trabajando. Era fanático del teatro y de la escritura. Escribió varias obras con mensajes cristianos, interpretando el rol principal en muchas de ellas.

También destacaba en los deportes y durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, participó en varias obras de contenido patriótico. Al finalizar la guerra, terminó sus estudios de teología y fue ordenado sacerdote en 1946.

En 1978, el papa Juan Pablo I, fallece y es ahí donde Karol Wojtyla, fue elegido papa, adoptando el nombre de Juan Palo II en honor a su antecesor, Juan XXIII y Paulo VI. Desde ese entonces, su labor como papa se reflejó en las lecciones de amor y perdón y amor. Además, de no discriminar a nadie por su raza, color o condición social.

Juan Pablo II, fue un amarte de la paz, siempre enseñó a que no tengan miedo de amar, de decir la verdad, de nosotros mismos, de perdonar, de acercarnos a Cristo y de ser mejores personas cada día. Solucionó conflictos como el de Argentina y Chile, luego intervino en el conflicto por las islas Las Malvinas, en la caída del muro de Berlín y en la caída del bloque soviético.

Juan Pablo II murió en sus aposentos privados y fue por decisión propia, el no ser trasladado a una clínica. El Papa se entregó a la voluntad de Dios. Mil millones de católicos en todo el mundo lloraron la muerte de uno de los Papas que durante más tiempo dirigió los destinos de la Iglesia.
