Juan Ochoa Ccahuana, hermano de una de las víctimas, estaba en Huancayo, Junín, cuando se enteró a través de una llamada telefónica de que su hermana mayor Marcelina había muerto: “era la 1 de la mañana del último lunes. No tenía muchos detalles de lo ocurrido, solo le dijeron que había sido asesinada horas antes en San Miguel del Ene, en Satipo, la localidad ubicada en las profundidades del Vraem a la que ella se había mudado junto a sus otras dos hermanas para trabajar”.
Lamentablemente, la tragedia no paraba de llegar para Juan, en ese mismo instante recibe una llamada donde le informan la noticia completa: Carmen y Diane, sus otras hermanas, también habían sido asesinadas junto a sus dos hijas menores de edad la noche del domingo. En ese momento le confirmaron que Sendero Luminoso les había arrebatado a cinco familiares.
Su madre Alejandra Ccahuanca no podía ocultar el dolor que sentía por perder a sus tres hijas. “He perdido a mis tres hijas, mi ultimita Carmen, eran cocineras. Ellas habían venido a visitarme para el Día de la Madre”, exclamaba entre lágrimas.
El mismo lunes, la ciudad de Pichari presenció el traslado a la morgue de los 16 cadáveres que dejó el sanguinario ataque a ese centro poblado por parte de la columna terrorista que encabezó Víctor Quispe Palomino, alias ‘camarada José’. La Cruz Roja Internacional, cuyos representantes se encuentran en Pichari, apoyarán a los deudos con el traslado de los cuerpos a cada lugar que indiquen las familias para cumplir con los sepelios.
