En el duelo que cerró la jornada futbolística del viernes, Ayacucho FC rescató un punto en el Estadio Alejandro Villanueva, tras empatar 1-1 con Cienciano del Cusco por la fecha 5 de la Fase 1.
En tan solo el inicio del encuentro, fue el combinado ‘imperial’ el que tomó rápidamente el control a partir del mediocampo; siendo los que mayor protagonismo tuvieron con sus aproximaciones de peligrosidad al arco rival. No obstante, no contaron con la respuesta del portero Cavalotti, quien en más de una ocasión dejó a Cienciano con el grito de gol contenido en la primera parte.
El cuadro de Marcelo Grioni encontró su premio a los 57 minutos, Hansell Rioja aprovechó un rebote del portero de Ayacucho FC y punteó el balón, logrando abrir la cuenta. Pasaban los minutos y el marcador parecía no moverse; no obstante, en una acción sacada de otro partido, Roberto Villamarín se asoció con Othoniel Arce, para que el defensa logre acomodarse y tras enganchar, sacó el misil imposible de atajar para Daniel Ferreyra cuando el partido ya expiraba.
Con este empate, Ayacucho FC se mantiene en el segundo lugar con nueve unidades, mientras que, Cienciano sigue liderando el Grupo A de la Liga 1 con 11 puntos.
