FC Emmen le dice adiós a la Eredivisie luego de caer en una tanda de penales ante NAC Breda por 4-3. En el tiempo regular ambas escuadras igualaron 1-1 y en la definición desde los 11 pasos erraron Veendorp y Sergio Peña, mientras que Miguel Araujo si logró convertir en esta ronda.

Un cotejo que se perfilaba al FC Emmen como favorito para ganarlo en los 90 minutos; pero, que no contó con la rebeldía del NAC Breda para jugarle de igual e igual y complicarlo a lo largo del compromiso. Tanto así, que fueron ellos que abrieron el marcador sobre los 18 minutos por obra de Immers.

El juego tuvo el total dominio de Emmen; pero, no la profundidad esperada. La hinchada se hizo presente y no dejó de alentar al plantel por cada jugada generada en ataque. Fue así, que sobre los 80′ apareció la fortuna del autogol de Hendricks para que, el equipo de los peruanos, fuerce el tiempo extra.

En los suplementarios, Emmen hizo todos los esfuerzos para poder ganarlo en los 120 minutos; sin embargo, Breda tenía su muralla en el arco que no permitió anotación alguna.

Todo se definió en la tanda de penales. Emmen inició marcando con De Leeuw para que NAC empareja con Van Hooijdink. Miguel Araujo puso la ventaja nuevamente y Fiorini no se quedaba atrás.

En el tercer penal Veendorp erró para Emmen y Jansen anotó el suyo para poner adelante a Breda. Bijl emparejó y Malone erró para Breda. Todo igual, 3-3.

Último remate para cada equipo y va Sergio Peña. El peruano que tantas alegrías le dio al club erró desde los 11 pasos, dando pie para que El Allouchi marque en Breda y celebre el pase a la final de los playoffs de ascenso.

Caras largas en Emmen y tristeza para nuestros compatriotas, que vieron reflejado el mal arranque de temporada y que no pudieron con el comodín de los playoffs. El equipo de los peruanos, Miguel Araujo, Sergio Peña, Didier La Torre y Jean Pierre Rhyner estará en la Segunda División de los Países Bajos la próxima temporada y ya se verá si su futuro continúa en el club rojiblanco.
