García Pye mencionó que no resulta fácil llegar a Quito y se podría lograr debido a la experiencia de la Clasificatoria pasada, además de la ayuda de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol en el caso de transportes o apoyo en el aeropuerto. También se refirió por la Copa América, donde Perú jugará la mayoría de sus partidos en Cali, ciudad donde está todo convulsionado debido a las marchas y enfrentamientos que se están dando los últimos días, así que están esperando que se calme la situación para realizar alguna acción.
Respecto al partido contra Colombia, surgió la posibilidad de que se juegue en Miami, con tres condiciones fundamentales: primero que el comando técnico considere que deportivamente no hay afectación, luego que Colombia acepte jugar el partido de vuelta en campo neutral y por último, que la FIFA acepte la propuesta. Igual todo esto ha quedado en una propuesta que no próspero y el partido finalmente se jugará en Lima.
Sobre la fecha que estarían los seleccionados en la VIDENA, el gerente de selecciones afirmó que el 24 del presente mes estarían empezando a trabajar con los jugadores del medio local y a más tardar para el 31 estarían todos los convocados completos. Además deslizó que para esta fecha doble puede que la lista sea mayor a 23 futbolistas.
