Los goles de la contienda fueron anotados por Dhawlin Leudo (16') y Neil Marcos (46') para los piuranos, antes había descontado Sergio Almirón (30') para los selváticos.
El partido se mostró con mucha intensidad por parte de ambos conjuntos, se veía que deseaban los tres puntos para estar más cerca de sus objetivos. Con remates de media distancia y ataques por las bandas buscaban hacerse daño para luego manejar el partido.
Por eso, el primero llegó apenas a los 16 minutos y es que tras un rebote, Leudo tomó el balón casi al borde del área y pateó fuerte para vencer al portero Rosales, que nada pudo hacer para evitar la caída de su arco.
Luego llegó el ataque de Comercio, quien con orden en el fondo y una volante que se hacía con el balón cada vez más tiempo, acortó distancia. Una falta dentro del área rival le dio la oportunidad a Almirón de cobrar un penal que fue excelentemente ejecutado para poner el empate a los 30 minutos de juego.
Sin embargo, cuando todo parecía irse empatado, apareció Neil Marcos para poner el 2-1 a los 46 minutos cuando se jugaba el agregado. Este era un duro golpe para Comercio que en el complemento lo intentó aunque sin mayor éxito.
El resultado deja a Atlético Grau con 13 puntos y líder en la Fase 2 junto con Unión Huaral, pero los de Piura además marchan primeros en el Acumulado. Por su parte, Unión Comercio se ubica en la casilla 4 con 10 unidades y deja pasar la oportunidad de seguir arriba.
