Luego de un partido muy reñido, Binacional y Melgar terminaron igualando 1-1 por la jornada 6 de la Liga 1. Este encuentro se perfilaba sin goles; pero, en cuestión de dos minutos llegaron las únicas anotaciones del encuentro en el Estadio Iván Elías Moreno de Villa El Salvador.
El partido inició muy friccionado por parte de ambos bandos. Melgar era el equipo que más ocasiones de gol generó en la primera parte; sin embargo, su efectividad no era del todo clara con Kevin Quevedo en la zona ofensiva.
Sin embargo, el ex Goiás de Brasil, rompió su mala racha goleadora en el fútbol profesional y se hizo presente en el marcador para anotar su primer gol con camiseta de Melgar. Quevedo puso el primero para los rojinegros sobre 71 minutos y todo parecía alegría en tienda dominó.
No obstante, no contaron con el coraje de Johan Arango en el minuto siguiente. Y es que se hizo presente en el área rival para igualar el partido a los 72′. Euforia de Binacional que le daba vida a este partido que se perfilaba sin goles.
El tiempo no dio para más ocasiones de gol y ambos terminaron repartiéndose los puntos. De esta manera, Melgar es sexta en el grupo A con seis unidades, mientras que Binacional es séptimo del grupo B con cuatro puntos.
