Aquella acción brindaba ánimos a Deportivo Municipal, que continuaba remando y generando principalmente las acciones más peligrosas al arco contrario. Si bien el premio demoró, este finalmente llegaría a los 78', otra vez desde la vía aérea, aunque de parte del defensa colombiano Luis Cardoza quien marcaría el segundo y definitivo.
Con este resultado, Deportivo Municipal suma sus primeros tres puntos en la tabla del Grupo B y ocupa el octavo lugar. Mientras que, Deportivo Binacional cae al noveno puesto con la misma cantidad de unidades.
