Deportivo Municipal logró igualar 1-1 ante Cusco FC, por la fecha 8 de esta Fase 1, en un partido que se desarrolló en el estadio Alejandro Villanueva de La Victoria. El conjunto cusqueño aún no sabe lo que es ganar en la temporada 2021.
El partido se abrió raudamente a los cinco minutos por obra de Royer Villano. Un golpe para la escuadra de Franco Navarro quien recién se estaba acomodando en el campo de juego. No obstante, se tuvo que aguardar hasta los 41 minutos para que los ‘ediles’ encuentren el gol de la igualdad. Hernán Rengifo recibió un centro de Hideyoshi Arakaki para hacer un buen remate de cabeza y celebrar la anotación.
Para el complemento, ambos equipos no mostraron mucho dentro del terreno de juego. Pocas ocasiones de gol y una expulsión de Jean Pierre Archimbaud de Municipal sobre los 63 minutos. Nuevamente Cusco FC teniendo por cuarto vez consecutiva a un expulsado del rival, no aprovecho la superioridad numérica. El equipo de Claudio Vivas no encuentra la fórmula para sumar de a tres.
De esta manera, Deportivo Municipal es séptimo del grupo B con siete unidades, mientras que Cusco FC lo escolta en la octava posición con cinco puntos.
