En un duelo de poderes por la fecha 15 de la Liga MX Guardianes 2021, América y Cruz Azul igualaron 1-1 en el Estadio Azteca.
En el duelo de la decimoquinta jornada, los dos cuadros se neutralizaron y anotaron con penaltis, del argentino Emanuel Aguilera por las Águilas del entrenador argentino Santiago Solari, y de Jonathan Rodríguez, por los Azules del estratega peruano Juan Reynoso, que vieron destruida su racha de 12 triunfos consecutivos.
