El técnico Ricardo Gareca indicó que la Selección Peruana, estará lista para afrontar la fecha triple de las "Eliminatorias al Mundial Qatar 2022", y que están en condiciones de salir de los últimos lugares en el que se encuentra. Aseguró que la escuadra nacional estará preparada para afrontar los partidos de Eliminatorias, que prevé que serán programadas en tres fechas seguidas por la paralización del proceso, debido a segunda ola del Coronavirus que afecta a Sudamérica y al mundo.

"Vamos a estar preparados. Todos estamos en la misma situación. No lo veo como un problema. Creo que los jugadores van a estar bien en lo general, llegarán bien", manifestó Gareca.

"Con las fechas triples no tendría inconvenientes. Hay que ver todo el problema con los clubes. Creo que en el año 2022 hay posibilidades de poner fechas. Hablar sobre eso un poco superficial. Lo que nos toca hay que afrontarlo", agregó.

Asimismo, confirmó que el 27 de abril deberá presentar la lista para la Copa América 2021, que se celebrarán en Argentina y Colombia: "Tenemos que presentar el 27 de abril esa lista. Nos informaron que teníamos que tener una lista de 50 jugadores", afirmó.
