Dos jugadores que parecen fijos en esa convocatoria son: Christian Cueva y Sergio Peña.
Este último sostuvo una conversación con Movistar Deportes y se refirió a la competencia que existe con Cueva, donde recientemente llegó al equipo saudí Al Fateh, por el puesto en el que ambos se desempeñan.
"A Christian le está yendo bien, ha llegado a un club donde está jugando y eso es importante. Estoy muy contento por él, porque es mi compañero, es un buen amigo mío. Estoy feliz que esté teniendo minutos después de tanto tiempo sin jugar", declaró Sergio Peña.
Asimismo, sabe que pelear un puesto en el once de la Selección Peruana es difícil; pero, el ambiente siempre es sano entre los convocados: "Me motiva bastante porque la competencia es fuerte. Es bueno para él y para mí porque los dos vamos a matarnos por un puesto en la selección", agregó.
Finalmente, se refirió a su presente con FC Emmen, en medio de esta temporada tan complicada. Sabe que debe seguir a tope en esta liga, para así lograr la permanencia en la Primera División de Países Bajos.
"Desde que llegué aquí, he jugado casi todos los partidos. Soy bastante importante en el equipo, y en lo individual estoy bastante contento. Vengo logrando lo que me propuse y ahora debo mantener al equipo en primera división", finalizó el jugador nacional.
