Un doblete de Marcelo González impulsó al River Plate paraguayo en el Grupo E de la Copa Sudamericana, al imponerse este jueves por 1-2 sobre el Sport Huancayo, que acumula su segunda derrota y permanece sin puntos.
Mientras el equipo peruano tocaba y tocaba el balón, sin apenas pisar el área contraria, el juego más directo y sencillo de River, hizo que los visitantes tuvieran las ocasiones más claras de todo el partido y que fueran justos merecedores del triunfo. En ningún momento el ‘Kelito’ dio muestras de ser el último clasificado de la primera división paraguaya y de estar jugándose la permanencia.
Cierto es que muy pronto se le puso el partido a favor con un derechazo de González directo a la red cuando apenas se habían disputado 4 minutos del partido. Al ‘Rojo Matador’ le tocó remar una vez más a contracorriente y fue tenaz durante todo el primer tiempo hasta encontrar la recompensa del empate a los 38 minutos en una jugada donde el brasileño Liliu dio una lección de delantero centro.
El ariete del Huancayo recibió el balón en la línea de tres cuartos, abrió el juego a la banda izquierda y remató el centro del lateral Luis Benites, con un “cabezazo imparable”. Sin embargo, poco le duró la alegría al conjunto local, que apenas cuatro minutos después recibía el segundo gol en un regalo de su defensa a González, al que le dejaron la pelota solo frente al portero Joel Pinto.
En el segundo tiempo, el defensa colombiano Jimmy Valoyes hizo el segundo tanto del Huancayo en una jugada heroica, pero el árbitro, su compatriota Nicolás Gallo, lo anuló por una mano muy discutida.
Fue la mejor ocasión de los peruanos, pues el resto del tiempo sufrió en exceso con los contragolpes del River Plate en su intento sin éxito de sentenciar el triunfo, pues los visitantes tuvieron que conformarse con la victoria por la mínima.
Con este valioso triunfo en el Estadio Nacional de Lima, el ‘Kelito’ ascendió a la segunda plaza del grupo, donde acumula cuatro puntos y está por encima del Corinthians brasileño, que se queda en el tercer lugar con un punto tras perder por 0-2 frente al líder Peñarol.
