Por la fecha 7 de la Fase 1 de la Liga 1, Sport Huancayo no pasó del empate sin goles con la Universidad César Vallejo en el Complejo de la Videna FPF. El ‘Rojo Matador’ no pudo ante la sólida defensa de la escuadra trujillana, que tuvo como figura a Renzo Garcés.
Un partido que tuvo los ingredientes necesarios para hacerlo vistoso. En ese sentido, fue el cuadro del ‘Rojo Matador’ el que tuvo las ocasiones más claras para ponerse arriba en el marcador; sin embargo, la respuesta defensiva y el nivel del portero Jefferson Nolasco terminaron evitando lo que hubiera sido tres puntos claves.
En esa línea, la primera ocasión del encuentro llegó sobre los 10 minutos luego de que Jimmy Valoyes tome la lanza, desbordara por el sector izquierdo y saque el centro para Óscar Barreto quien llegando por el segundo palo falló de forma increíble el primero de la tarde.
Ello en cambio no trajo abajo los ánimos de los locales, que siguieron intentando y sobre la media hora de juego, otra vez Valoyes aparecería dentro del área para el tiro de esquina. Aunque esta vez cabeceando, el frentazo del defensor terminaría siendo desviado por el portero trujillano.
Ya para la segunda mitad, Huancayo no soltaría el acelerador y cuando llegaban los 55 minutos Marcos Lliuya ganaría en velocidad, en una jugada colectiva, para sacar el centro que terminaría complicando al arquero Nolasco que dejó el bote. Parecía llegar el primero; no obstante, en una segunda instancia Renzo Garcés terminaría sacando la pelota. Se salvaba una vez más la portería norteña.
César Vallejo, con muchas ausencias, trataba de responder y con algunas variantes en su once quiso darle un refresco. No obstante, si quiera esto cambió los planes de su rival que nunca pudo romper la ‘muralla’ trujillana y todo se consumaría con el cero en ambos bandos.
Con este resultado, Sport Huancayo cae al tercer lugar del Grupo B de la Liga 1 con 12 puntos, mientras que, la Universidad César Vallejo es segundo con la misma cantidad de unidades pero con una mejor diferencia de goles a favor.
