Sporting Cristal debutó este martes con goleada en contra 3-0 frente a Sao Paulo por la fecha 1 de la fase de grupos de la Copa Libertadores. Los dirigidos por Roberto Mosquera cometieron una serie de errores en el Estadio Nacional de Lima, en donde el rival no perdonó y que finalmente le costó caro en los 90 minutos.

Después de doce salidas sin triunfos en la Libertadores, donde acumulaba ocho derrotas y cuatro empates, el equipo brasileño se llevó finalmente los tres puntos de Lima con los goles de Luan, del argentino Martín Benítez y del italiano Éder. El triunfo de Sao Paulo supuso la primera derrota de la temporada para Sporting Cristal, que hasta ahora contaba todos sus partidos por victorias en las cuatro primeras jornadas de la Liga 1.

Pese al dominio apabullante del torneo local, el equipo limeño se vio superado por las individualidades de su rival, que supo controlar el juego sin necesidad de tener la posesión del balón. Los visitantes apenas tuvieron que esforzarse para ponerse en ventaja, pues le bastó con que Luan cazase un mal rechace del ecuatoriano Washington Corozo para conectar un remate que se desvió en un defensor y acabó en la red del equipo peruano en el minuto 17.

Hasta ese momento la igualdad imperaba sobre la cancha, y después del gol el equipo celeste no se amilanó; sin embargo, se mostró espeso e impreciso en los metros finales. Tal vez los mejores momentos de los celestes se dio al inicio de la segunda mitad, cuando el árbitro uruguayo Andrés Cunha no vio una mano clara de Bruno Alves, que debió ser penal a favor de Cristal. La mejor prueba de ello es el uno contra uno que desperdició el extremo ecuatoriano Washington Corozo en el minuto 65, que fue la ocasión más clara del Cristal en todo el encuentro.

Para entonces los peruanos ya perdían por 0-2 después de que Martin Benítez hubiese dejado casi sentenciado el encuentro con un contundente disparo desde la frontal del área, muy ajustado a la base del poste. En los minutos finales Cristal bajó los brazos y dio pie para que Sao Paulo marcase su tercer gol por medio de Éder, un tanto que momentos antes había acariciado Dani Alves jugando casi como un delantero más.

La próxima semana Sporting Cristal tendrá que visitar Argentina, para enfrentarse a Racing Club, en cambio Sao Paulo recibirá al debutante Rentistas de Uruguay.
