Por la fecha 8 de la Fase 1, Sporting Cristal se impuso por 2-0 a Sport Huancayo en el Estadio Miguel Grau del Callao y dejó en claro que por algo es el finalista de esta primera parte del torneo. Con goles de Nilson Loyola y Martín Távara, los ‘celestes’ mantienen su invicto en este 2021 al sumar su octavo triunfo consecutivo.
Un encuentro donde los dirigidos por Claudio Bustamante, en reemplazo de Roberto Mosquera por su reciente operación, salieron decididos a seguir manteniendo sus números en verde. En ese sentido, nunca pasaron apuros ante un ‘Rojo Matador’ que sigue dejando más dudas que certezas para hacer frente a sus rivales.
De esta manera, no sería sino hasta el minuto 39 cuando en tiro de esquina cobrado por el venezolano Jhon Marchán sería conectado por Omar Merlo, que en un primer cabezazo exigió al portero huancaíno; quien no pudo evitar dejar el rebote y ahí en el segundo palo, Nilson Loyola tuvo que poner la rodilla para el 1-0 antes del descanso.

Los ‘rimenses’ en tanto seguían creando más opciones y a los 68 minutos, de un saque largo desde el arco, Alejandro Hohberg asistió a Irven Ávila; quien totalmente solo mandaría el esférico por arriba del travesaño. Un nuevo ahogo de grito de gol, que a priori también se le sigue negando al popular ‘Cholito’.
Con algunos recambios de por medio, sería la figura de Martín Távara quien terminaría liquidando el partido. En una muy buena jugada colectiva, el volante recibió el centro desde la izquierda y llegando al segundo travesaño consiguió el segundo y definitivo a los 88′.
Con la victoria de este domingo, Sporting Cristal alcanza los 24 puntos en el grupo B, en el que enfrentará por la última fecha a la Universidad César Vallejo. Mientras que Sport Huancayo cae al tercer lugar con 12 unidades y cerrará la Fase 1 ante Sport Boys.
