Momento especial para la Universidad San Martín tras retornar a una definición de la Liga 1 del fútbol peruano tras 7 años. Los ‘santos’ vencieron 1-0 a Deportivo Municipal con anotación de Franco Zanelatto.

Por muchos años, la Universidad San Martín siempre se perfiló a pelear la zona baja de la tabla; pero, ahora logró encontrar su mejor versión para imponerse en el grupo A y enfrentar en la gran final de la Fase 1 a Sporting Cristal, ganador del grupo B.

San Martín siempre ha mantenido la idea de controlar el juego y luego dar el golpe cuando menos lo esperas. Sabe cerrar sus líneas y confiar en sus hombres de ataque como Franco Zanelatto, quien apareció sobre los 58′ para darle la alegría al cuadro blanco que se ilusiona con llevarse la Fase 1.

Ambas escuadras terminaron con 10 hombres tras las expulsiones de Carlos Monges y Franco Saravia. El juego se volvió muy friccionado en el complemento tras el gol del guaraní; no obstante, pudieron sostener la ventaja mínima para llevarse la victoria en estos 90 minutos.

Se estima, que la final de la Fase 1 se dispute el domingo 30 de mayo. Tocará aguardar el anuncio oficial de la Liga 1 para conocer el horario de este compromiso entre Sporting Cristal vs San Martín.
