Argentina y Messi lo intentaron y en el minuto 69 realizó un tiro que pegó en un defensor chileno y se fue al tiro de esquina. Pero la albiceleste no se vio clara, desperdició varias opciones y Chile se mantuvo fuerte en defensa.
El viernes próximo, en la segunda jornada del grupo A, Chile se verá las caras con Bolivia y Argentina protagonizará el clásico del Río de la Plata contra Uruguay.
