La Agencia Internacional de Integridad del Tenis (ITIA) informó que suspendió al tenista peruano, Maurizio Echazu, de forma provisionalmente.

El oficial de audiencias anti-corrupción, Raj Parker, suspendió de manera provisional al peruano de 32 años y número 657 del ranking ATP, que se encuentra pendiente de una audiencia para la consideración completa de los cargos en su contra.

Por el momento, la ITIA no ha hecho públicos esos cargos. “Desde el 6 de agosto de 2021, el jugador tiene prohibido competir o asistir a cualquier evento de tenis organizado por los órganos rectores del deporte”, afirmó el organismo en el comunicado.

Al conocer esta información, la Federación Deportivo Peruana de Tenis emitió un comunicado en el que se compromete a cumplir las medidas. “Hemos tomado conocimiento que el tenista peruano ha sido suspendido provisionalmente por la Agencia Internacional de Integridad del Tenis. De acuerdo a la publicación, el jugador está impedido de competir o asistir a los eventos de tenis en cualquier jurisdicción”.

“La Federación Peruana de Tenis cumplirá la medida provisional interpuesta a la espera del pronunciamiento final”, señaló el ente nacional sobre el caso de Mauricio Echazú, quien no juega desde el año pasado.
