Alianza Lima tuvo debut y despedida en la Copa Bicentenario al haber caído en la tanda de penales ante Cultural Santa Rosa de Andahuaylas por 3 a 2. En el tiempo regular el marcador acabó igualado 2 a 2.

La escuadra blanquiazul nunca se sintió cómoda sobre el sintético del estadio de San Marcos. Si bien tuvo el balón, no pudo generar mayores chances para convertir y por el contrario, pasaron más de un apuro cuando el cuadro ‘policial’ se animó a atacar.

Es así, que Cultural Santa Rosa los sorprendió con el tanto de Hugo Ancajima, el cual le permitió irse al descanso con una sorpresiva ventaja a su favor.

Para el complemento, Carlos Bustos quiso potenciar a Alianza Lima y mandó al campo de juego a los experimentados Wilmer Aguirre y Hernán Barcos. Así como también a Mauricio Matzuda, cuyo desequilibrio fue clave en la segunda parte.

Los íntimos lograrían dar vuelta al marcador con sendos remates de penal. Primero convirtió el ‘Pirata’ y luego el ‘Zorrito’. Con ello, las cosas parecían estar en orden y la victoria asegurada para los íntimos, pero Cultural Santa Rosa nunca bajó los brazos y equiparo las cosas con una anotación de Andy Pando.

Con dicho marcador acabaría el partido en su tiempo regular; Alianza Lima terminó mostrando un rostro bastante opaco el cual se vio reflejado en la tanda de penales, donde fallaron sus disparos Josepmir Ballón, José Manzaneda, Mauricio Matzuda y Renato Rojas. Ni las tres atajadas de Ángelo Campos evitaron su derrota por 3 a 2 y la consecuente eliminación de la Copa Bicentenario.
